Shannon Desherow, who serves as assistant general counsel for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, posted a profanity-laced video on TikTok arguing that ICE agents lack jurisdiction over American citizens. The video, reshared by Libs of TikTok on X, prompted immediate scrutiny from state officials and federal authorities. Desherow claimed administrative warrants used by ICE fail to meet Fourth Amendment standards and declared her intention not to comply with agents she believes lack proper authority.

The Department of Homeland Security issued a stark warning in response, reminding the public that obstructing law enforcement constitutes a federal felony. A DHS spokesperson emphasized that while the First Amendment protects speech and peaceful assembly, it does not protect rioting or interference with federal officers performing their duties.
Official Condemnation and Call for Resignation
Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond issued a forceful statement declaring that Desherow does not speak for Oklahoma. His office called for her resignation, stating that anyone in state law enforcement who opposes federal partners should step down. Drummond emphasized that agencies including Homeland Security, FBI, DEA, and ICE serve as critical allies in combating organized crime. He characterized attacks against these agencies as threats to the entire system protecting American life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed awareness of the video and stated officials are looking into the matter. Desherow, who earned her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2020, has since set her TikTok account to private.
