Trump Video SPARKS Questions — White House Silent

A video posted by outgoing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has sparked widespread online commentary about President Donald Trump’s physical appearance, with the White House declining to respond to questions about the 80-year-old’s health.

Social Media Response to Video

Leavitt shared footage on Friday showing the president embracing parents of a 12-year-old boy killed by a stray bullet in the Bronx. She described it as a meaningful moment during Trump’s speech at the Nassau County Police Academy in Garden City, New York. The clip, filmed from behind, drew immediate attention from critics who questioned unusual aspects of Trump’s appearance in the recording.

Several prominent figures weighed in online, including progressive journalist Aaron Rupar and attorney George Conway, who made references to adult incontinence products. Former tennis champion Martina Navratilova also commented on the footage. The White House appeared unaware of the social media discussions and did not provide a statement when contacted by reporters on Monday.

Ongoing Health Questions

Trump’s physical condition has generated considerable public interest during his second term. Visible bruising on his hands, ankle swelling, and a neck rash have all prompted questions from medical professionals and the media. White House officials attributed the hand bruising to daily aspirin use and frequent handshaking. They explained the ankle swelling as chronic venous insufficiency, a circulatory condition that causes blood pooling in the legs.

Dr. Sean Barbabella, Trump’s personal physician, stated the neck rash resulted from a preventative skin treatment, though he did not specify the underlying condition being addressed. Dr. Jonathan Reiner, who previously served as cardiologist to Vice President Dick Cheney, wrote in The New York Times that the president has undergone advanced imaging for undisclosed reasons and has appeared to struggle staying awake during public appearances.

Public Perception and Concerns

An April poll revealed shifting public opinion on Trump’s fitness for office. Fifty-five percent of surveyed American adults expressed doubts about whether the president possessed adequate physical health to serve effectively, a significant increase from 40 percent in January 2024. The growing skepticism reflects mounting concerns among voters about presidential health transparency and the administration’s limited disclosure of medical information. These discussions occur as Trump continues his second term at age 80, making him the oldest sitting president in American history.
