Hollywood Star ARRESTED!

Actress Selma Blair faces multiple assault charges after allegedly attacking flight attendants, a police officer, and a nurse during a violent incident aboard a Delta Airlines flight Sunday. The escalating confrontation began mid-flight and continued through her hospitalization, raising serious questions about passenger safety and accountability.

Chaos at 30,000 Feet

Blair allegedly punched one flight attendant and bit another during the flight to John F. Kennedy International Airport. Two crew members reported injuries, with one requiring hospitalization. Witnesses recorded audio capturing Blair screaming repeatedly while alarms blared throughout the cabin. According to dispatch reports, she bashed her head against a bulkhead as the plane prepared for landing. Crew members placed her in restraints before the aircraft touched down, where law enforcement waited.

The violence continued after landing. While being transported by ambulance to the hospital, Blair allegedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head multiple times. Once at the medical facility, she reportedly assaulted a nurse, who subsequently pressed charges. Blair now faces multiple assault charges: two for attacking the officer and nurse, plus separate charges related to the in-flight incident. The FBI has opened an investigation into the matter.

Medical Emergency or Pattern of Behavior

Blair’s representative attributed the conduct to a medical emergency, stating she received immediate attention upon landing and remains in stable condition. The actress was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, a neurological condition that can affect behavior and judgment. However, this marks her second removal from a flight. In June 2016, she caused a disturbance on a Los Angeles-bound flight after allegedly mixing medication with alcohol, traveling with her young son at the time.

Blair later described that 2016 incident as horrifying and humiliating, admitting she was severely dehydrated and unaware of her neurological issues. In her 2022 memoir, Blair confessed to biting multiple celebrities including Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, and Seth MacFarlane during first meetings. She attributed this behavior to feeling overwhelmed in social situations, though those incidents were characterized as awkward rather than violent.

What This Means

The incident highlights growing concerns about in-flight safety and passenger accountability. Flight attendants face increasing workplace violence, with this case representing an extreme escalation. While Blair’s medical condition may contribute to behavioral changes, the severity of the alleged assaults against multiple individuals raises questions about fitness to fly and appropriate interventions. Airlines and medical professionals may need clearer protocols for handling passengers with known conditions that could compromise safety. The FBI investigation will determine whether federal charges apply.
